Madison and Megan are homesick. I don’t think they realized it until Grandad broke a major rule: DO NOT LET THE GIRLS TALK TO MOMMY WHILE VISITING. I just got off the phone with Megan, our conversation went like this:
Hey, sweetie!! Tell me all the fun stuff you’ve been doing!
I’ve been crying all last night and all today because I miss you. Granna says it would be a good idea if you would just come to Amarillo and spend the night with me. Please mommy, would you PLEASE come??
Madison informed me that she cried just a little, and she misses me. They’ve been gone since Friday morning and we will get them back Tuesday night. I just wanted to tear out of here and go get them. Who cares that Megan lied about what Granna said! Plus, I know good and well that they’ve had a great time. They didn’t know they missed me until Grandad passed the phone.
He called later to say they were not crying and were happily playing a game. He also said “I now remember why we don’t let them talk to mamma.” Lesson learned. Again.
